PAYMENT
Online Bill Pay/Checking Account
You can pay your Columbia Gas bills with a checking account. Always keep your bank account and Columbia Gas account information near you. Go to account summary if you want to check your payment status.
Credit Card/Debit Card
You can also pay your energy bills with a credit or a debit card through BillMatrix. Keep your Columbia Gas account number handy. BillMatrix supports payments with Discover, MasterCard, Visa and American Express cards.
Be aware that BillMatrix charges a $1.75 processing fee for each payment that you make. Call 866-694-1828 for more information.
Each gas bill comes with a return envelope that allows you to quickly mail your check or money order to Columbia Gas.
To send a payment by mail, cut out the payment coupon from the bill and place it in the envelope together with your payment. Don’t forget to write out your Columbia Gas account number. Allow 5 days for the payment to be processed. To prevent thefts, avoid sending cash by mail.

Columbia Gas also accepts payments by phone thanks to BillMatrix. If you’re paying by phone, you can use credit/debit cards or electronic checks. BillMatrix supports Discover, MasterCard, Visa and American Express or ATM Debit Cards with a PULSE, STAR, NYCE or ACCEL logo.

Person
If you want to pay in person, you can contact authorized payment agents to pay your bills wherever you are in Ohio. Always keep your receipt and never make payments to agents that are not officially recognized by Columbia Gas of Ohio.
To find an authorized payment agent near you, go here and enter your address, city, state and zip code. Select the farthest distance you’re willing to go to and press Search. The system will return a list of the closest authorized agents.
Automatic Payments
You can set up automatic online payments for your monthly bills using Autopay. Go here to enroll and configure your automated monthly payments. Automatic payments are free to use, no additional charges apply.

Paperless Billing
Now, you can enroll into the Columbia Gas paperless billing program and gain instant access to electronic bills on all your computers and mobile devices. With paperless billing, you will receive a monthly email, when your bill is ready. You will also receive other important information about the gas service on a regular basis. Payment Plans
In case you have difficulties paying your bills, contact the Columbia Gas Customer Service at 800-344-4077 to arrange a payment plan. The customer service line works from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday.

Start New Service
If you want to start a new service, call the Columbia Gas customer service at 800-344-4077. The line is open from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday.
Alternatively, you can call their line for new service lines and meters at 800-440-6111.
Cancel Service
In case you want to cancel an existing service, contact the customer service at 800-344-4077. Their representatives will be there to help you cancel your gas service.
Transfer Service
Do you want to transfer an existing service to another name? Reach out to the Columbia Gas customer service at 800-344-4077. Their hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday.
Emergency
For carbon monoxide or gas emergencies, call 911. After that, call the Columbia Gas of Ohio at 800-344-4077. The line is open 24/7.
IMPORTANT: Don’t report strange odors or gas incidents via email or call Columbia Gas on the phone until you leave the affected area! Remain in a safe place until a professional checks and solves the problem.
Reconnect Service
If you have received a shut-off notice, call the customer service at 800-344-4077 immediately.
If your service has already been disconnected, you will have to pay a $52 fee to reconnect the service on top of all the past due bills. In addition to that, you will need to ensure safe conditions in your residence for the Columbia Gas employees to reconnect your service.
Once you pay your outstanding debts, your gas service will be reconnected within 3 business day.
Suspected Energy Theft
If you suspect that there is an energy theft going on in your residential area, contact the Columbia Gas hotline at 866-515-9864. The calls are fully confidential.

Once you get to a safe location, call 911 and then 800-344-4077. Don’t light any flames or fires or use any devices that could cause a spark. This includes smartphones, flashlights, tools etc. Do not attempt to ventilate your home by opening doors or windows.
If you see a damaged connection to a gas appliance, bubbles or dying vegetation near a gas line, evacuate yourself from the premises. If you see an exposed pipeline after a natural disaster, leave your home immediately.
If you hear a hissing, whistling or roaring sounds from a gas line or a gas appliance, leave the area immediately. Once you’re on a safe location, call 911 and then 800-344-4077 to report the issue.
